Thermidt - Hi-Fi Tube Amplifier

Application

Thermidt is an amplifier created for audio enthusiasts who seek a rich, detailed, and vibrant sound. Its unique Negative Cathode Feedback (NCF) design ensures exceptional clarity, precise bass control, and enhanced stability. Whether you have an advanced home hi-fi system or a small recording studio, Thermidt seamlessly adapts to your needs. It pairs especially well with popular studio monitors such as the Yamaha NS10. No matter if you are rediscovering classic albums or fine-tuning a detailed mix, Thermidt brings out the true, rich, and lively nature of every recording.

Experience Rich, Detailed, and Vibrant Sound

Construction

Thermidt is a tube amplifier delivering 2×21 W of output power, compatible with 4 Ω or 8 Ω speakers. Operating in Class AB push-pull (fixed bias) for high-fidelity reproduction, it boasts an impressively low distortion factor of no more than 0.15% at 20 W. Its power stage features four 7189/6N14P-EV tubes, while the driver stage employs two 6BL8 triode-pentodes. The preamplifier stage uses either a 6N2P-EV or 12AX7 tube (selectable by a jumper). Thermidt offers three operating modes – Flat, Bass, and Loudness – allowing you to tailor the sound character to your personal preferences.

Precision Tube Design for High-Fidelity Performance

External Appearance

Built on a robust yet compact chassis, Thermidt showcases an 8 mm CNC-machined top plate that protects internal components and exudes refined elegance. Strategically placed vents create a “chimney effect,” ensuring optimal tube cooling and prolonging component life. On the rear panel, you will find gold-plated speaker terminals (supporting both 4 Ω and 8 Ω loads) and Cinch input connectors, while the thoughtfully arranged controls and switches make daily operation intuitive.

Robust Elegance with Thoughtful Details

Technical Specifications

With an input sensitivity of 775 mV RMS, Thermidt seamlessly integrates multiple sources – CD, TV, AUX, or the built-in DLHiFi 5.1 Bluetooth module (24-bit/192 kHz) featuring an impressive 100-meter range. A dedicated headphone output accommodates headphones from 16 Ω upward. Weighing in at 29 kg, Thermidt is engineered for long-term reliability, guaranteeing countless hours of superb audio fidelity and immersion.
Of particular note are the specially designed output transformers made explicitly for this project. They are wound with exceptional precision using multiple winding sections and insulated layers. The core is made of Z11 Grain-Oriented lamination steel, prized for its excellent magnetic properties – highly desirable in audio output transformers. The entire design was overseen by UTM Industry.
