SPRINGTIME
Analog studio reverb
What is a Springtime Reverb?
Springtime Reverb, when applied with restraint, creates an extraordinary sense of space. When you add it, it may seem like nothing dramatic is happening. But the moment it is gone, you suddenly realize all the magic has disappeared from the recording.
There have been legendary studio processors throughout recording history that worked in a similar way. One of them was the Fairchild. I would not compare myself to such an icon, but the effect is familiar. The moment you bypass it, you immediately feel something important is missing.
That is exactly why we created Springtime Reverb.
So add something magical to your recordings. Something almost addictive.
Banana color, bright and bold, just like the sound you're looking for
What it does
Springtime is a 4-channel, fully analog spring reverb, housed in a large chassis because it contains four full-size spring tanks.
Two long-decay tanks. Two short-decay tanks. We use tanks manufactured by Tube Amp Doctor, well known across Europe for supplying premium components for tube amplifiers, stompboxes, stage equipment and recording studios. We use these outstanding components because they deliver what are, in our opinion, some of the best sounding spring tanks available today, proudly made in Germany.
And that is only the beginning. The spring tanks are driven by specially designed send and return amplifier stages. The topology follows the classic principles used in vintage Fender and Marshall amplifiers, where spring tanks were mounted inside guitar combos.
Our goal was to faithfully bring that classic technology into a professional studio environment.
Makes the music sound more expensive, adds depth without losing detail
Unique Baxandall Equalizer
Each channel, and each spring tank, can be processed through its own dedicated Baxandall equalizer.
This classic 3-band circuit is simple in concept, yet musically powerful. It can turn ordinary sounds into something inspiring.
In practice, it offers an exceptionally musical response and becomes the perfect companion to the Springtime sound. Honestly speaking, almost every setting sounds interesting.
Boost the lows and highs for a larger, wider ambience.
Push the midrange by +12 dB for aggressive character and presence.
The tonal palette is nearly unlimited. At any stage of the mix, you can bypass the EQ section or the complete reverb path. A fast and direct comparison between the dry signal and the processed signal explains the concept of Springtime immediately.
It is night and day. I have it. You should have it on every session too.
Sounds amazing on drums, guitars, piano, vocals, real orchestra, horns, busses, stems and full mixes
